Guesthouse Lost River awarded 2015 Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence for the FOURTH consecutive year!

When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the honorees that takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of reviews and opinions submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period as well as business’s tenure and ranking on the Popularity Index on the site.

Guesthouse Lost River featured as part of Bon Appetit Appalachia! 

The Bon Appetit! Bon Appalachia! campaign is a project of the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), a regional economic development agency whose mission is to be a strategic partner and advocate for sustainable community and economic development in Appalachia.  

ARC and its Tourism Council, which includes representatives from the 13 states within the Appalachian Region, developed the Bon Appetit! Bon Appalachia! initiative to highlight the region’s most distinctive local food destinations.

The locations identified on the interactive website map and the accompanying paper map, were selected through an online nomination process that took place in spring 2013. The interactive website includes approximately 650 destinations, while the paper map highlights 283 of these locations.  Guesthouse Kitchen & Bar have been featured as one of 21 locations in the state of WV and 1 of only 5 restaurants in the entire state.

From Australia to Zimbabwe, we want to applaud exceptional hospitality businesses for offering TripAdvisor travelers a great customer experience."

When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the honorees that takes into account reviews ratings. Businesses must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five. Volume and recency of reviews, as well as a business' tenure and popularity ranking are also factored into the algorithm.
